Whatever brought you here —
you don’t have to face it alone.
North Scottsdale · In-Person & Telehealth
Welcome
As a result of past traumas or painful relational experiences, people create coping mechanisms to protect themselves from further harm. While helpful at the time, these ways of coping have unintended consequences once they’re no longer needed. These unintended consequences often show up as anxiety, depression, loneliness, anger, rage, struggles with boundaries, people-pleasing, feeling disconnected, and a struggle to live and relate freely as one’s true self.
Counseling provides a safe, non-judgmental space to express emotion, understand how various ways of coping are helping or hindering, replace self-judgment with self-understanding, and modify coping mechanisms that are no longer helpful. As a result, painful patterns no longer hold as much power and exploring alternative ways of relating to yourself and others can be possible leading to a more satisfying experience.
It takes courage to reach out for and accept support, especially if you’re used to carrying it all alone. Together, at my North Scottsdale location or via Telehealth, we can understand what is going on, face what feels scary, and build awareness around outdated coping mechanisms that may be keeping you in a cycle of suffering. With increased awareness, it becomes easier to approach yourself, your life, and your relationships with confidence and clarity.
